Steve Winwood was in fine form but the Heartbreakers and Tom Petty really rocked it.
It was 96 degrees, beautiful sunset then full moon and stars. 20 thousand hot, sweaty, happy people dancing and singing. Last night goes to the top 10 of my concert favorites. I thought Mark Knopfler was great last month but the experience in this venue was nothing short of spectacular. I stood through the entire set! I can do it if I want it enough. The band played a great rendition of Gloria during the encore; the place was rockin'. Here is a good YouTube Video of it.
We left the amphitheater about 1 AM and arrived home about 7 AM. It's been a long time since we had an all night date.
My husband snapped this pic of me during a rest stop on the way to the concert.

In the past I've tried to keep personal stuff out of this blog. I'll be sharing a little more in the future for friends and family. Hope you don't mind.

I saw yesterdays post & was gonna ask you to tell us about it - and you did! Sounds like it was a great show with two of my favorite bands. What a beautiful setting. Rock On!
ReplyDeleteKnowing how sick you have been, I am so glad you had such a good time. Lovely outdoor setting, lovely night. (It is freezing still in Oz). Rock on you girl.
ReplyDeletecheers
Karen
Thanks girls, I really appreciate your support. This past winter was rough and I almost gave up. I have a new attitude that if I believe I can I will be able.
ReplyDeleteA real vacation didn't hurt either ;-)
I got more wrinkles than you.
ReplyDeleteSorry to beat you!
Mine are earned too, you look lovely

OMG I am so jealous!!! That must have been an awesome show! Tom Petty is at the top of my "want to see in concert someday" list!
ReplyDeleteOMG, girl, you are lookin' fab-u-lous!
ReplyDeleteIt's a miracle what 2 weeks R&R, new hairdo, appreciative eyes at a high school reunion and a happy husband can do for a girl.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do it more often!
Jealous about Tom Petty - I could have driven over from Montana but didn't know about it until I saw your post! Please DO write more about yourself - it helped me when my sister told me, "It's YOUR BLOG, you can write whatever you want." (I had been feeling really pressured to please people who were coming for a certain thing.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement Heidi, I will be taking your advice.
ReplyDeleteAren't you adorable! I do so love reading your blog with all the links and great info!
ReplyDeleteYou look great! Loved the pictures and the YouTube link. I don't get out much, armchair traveler that I am. So I'll live vicariously through your intrepid spirit. Keep up the personal notes - I love them.
