I'm just beginning to explore shoe patterns. I look for shapes that may have potential with a little bit of fiddling of the pattern and I make it in paper first.

The way to get a fit? start with a shoe mold /last first cover it with plastic wrap then cover that with masking tape, draw the design for your upper pattern cut on the lines then add salvage tape (quarter inch sitch allwance) where seams will be cutslits on the bottom half till it will lay flat then put on card stock or poster board trace and cut marking center front center back on the pattern there is your base pattern for the upper
