This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting a troop of Brownies holding their first cookie sale outside at the grocery store. They were shy and eager, not quite sure about attracting attention. Some had been visited by the toothfairy but they all were adorable; so proud of working to earn their first trip to camp.
These days I see so many young people flashing their hand signals so I thought I would share mine in the picture above. That's my hand and my Brownie pin.
Brings back memories! I'm gonna copy you.
ReplyDeletesis was a blue bird and big brother was a scout, i never had the opportunity to join...
ReplyDeletethis is one of the best post i think i've ever seen. thanks
Fellow girl scout here! I was even the co-leader of my daughter's troop for a couple of years. Even if I was allergic to the cookies I'd still have to buy them--I remember how cold and scared and eager I was when selling cookies!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder of many happy memories.
ReplyDeleteI loved being a brownie, just never made it to girl scout! Thanks for the memories
ReplyDeleteI was a brownie and girl guide for over ten years in Canada and have nothing but fond memories. So much so that as soon as my daughter became old enough she joined Brownies. Now I'm assistant leader and love every minute of it. I love "my girls", they are funny, smart and self-assured. And I'm doing my best to help them stay that way!!
ReplyDeleteThat takes me back! I know my must have my brownie pin and heavily laden merit badge sash somewhere!
ReplyDeleteHurray for the Girl Scouts! Once a Scout, always a Scout. that's what I tell the little girls selling cookies in front of the market. Is it my loyalty to scouting that makes me buy box after box, or is it the thin mints? Yummmmm....
ReplyDeletejust wanted to wish you a happy international woman day :)
