Pochoir is a refined stencil-based technique employed to create prints or to add color to pre-existing prints. It was most popular from the late 19th century through the 1930's with its center of activity in Paris. Pochoir was primarily used to create prints devoted to fashion, patterns, and architectural design and is most often associated with Art Nouveau and Art Deco.

This edition supplies straightforward jpeg issues of each page of the book in two sizes: 1000-pixel width ('screenshots', if you have your monitor resolution configured to 1024 by 768), and much larger. A navigation menu beneath the images will allow you to toggle between smaller images and enlargements (to zoom, click on the + sign).

Bitterweet Project
The concept of Bittersweet was cultural journalism dedicated to preserving the crafts, lore, legends and personalities of the Ozarks. Articles touch a wide range of subject areas. Included are such diverse pioneer craft and industry as wooden toy making and rope making.

The Roper family raised and milled their own flour, as did most every other family. "My husband had 500 pounds of Orla flour piled up upstairs at our house for me to cook with when I married him. Oh, mercy, that flour was soft, and hard to make a biscuit with when I'd never made biscuits anyhow!"
